The Department of Physics was established in 1983 with the beginning of B.Sc. program. The M.Sc.(self finance program) in the department was started in 2012. The Department provides basic theoretical knowledge and experimental skills to students in the different areas of Physics and prepares them for scientific jobs and higher studies in Physics. The department has one General Physics Laboratory and one Electronics Laboratory, where students can do experiments of Mechanical Properties of Matter, Thermal Physics, Optics, Electricity & Magnetism and Electronics experiments. The department also provides opportunities to students to visit various research and experimental facilities of various research organizations for better understanding of topics and develop curiosity in science in addition to curricular activities.
